Individual Therapy

In Individual psyhotherapy, you get a chance to know yourself better. In the safe container of therapy, you get to look into wounded, vulnerable parts of yourself and understand and heal them.I strive to create a compassionate environment, where this exploration can become easier.

I work with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship problems, transitions, self-esteem, women empowerment and cultural diversity.

My approach in therapy is eclectic and heart-centered drawing from different traditions and tailoring based on each individual’s need.

I use EMDR and Somatic Experiencing to help unravel and process the past traumatic experiences. I also implement Mindfulness, part work and inner child healing in my work. My therapy work is informed by my studies in Integrative Psychology, trauma informed modalities, and my own experiences in life, therapy and spirituality.

I offer client-centered therapy. I believe in innate goodness of each individual and the capability to become whole again.

Couples Therapy

Many couples get stuck in arguments, or unhealthy patterns of relating. Relationship takes work to maintain. Just like a plant would die without water, relationship would die without nourishment.

I help couple to see what dysfunctional patterns of communication and relating they get stuck on, and how to shift those patterns and engage in more healthy ones.

We usually repeat the patterns of relating that we have seen and experienced as a child. A person with insecure attachment style is going to struggle in relationships. The goal is to engage in repairing the attachment style and move towards more secure attachment.

HOW IT WORKS

EMDR Therapy

EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is an evidence-based approach to treating trauma and PTSD. This technique was developed by Francine Shapiro, psychologist in 1987. During EMDR, client focuses briefly on the traumatic memory as one engages in bilateral movement of eyes or tapping. This helps to process the traumatic memory in a way that is not anymore as emotionally charged. One starts feeling a healthy distance with what happened in the past, and the past trauma doesn’t have as much of a grip on one’s psyche anymore. EMDR therapy has shown to be superior to Prozac treatment( Van Der Kolk et al.,2007).

Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing was developed by the great psychologist and educator Dr. Peter Levine. Somatic Experiencing tries to resolve the symptoms of stress and trauma in our bodies. When we experience trauma our body reacts by going to fight, flight, freeze and dissociation. SE helps to address these states and release the the energies in the body, in order to arrive in a more calm and peaceful state.

Family Constellation

Family Constellation is a short term intervention done in group or individually, with the help of puppets. In this process, group members, or puppets, would play the role of different family members. By sharing their embodies experiences, they help reveal the unconscious dynamics of a family system and the wounds that need healing. With the help of therapist, the shifts are made , by repositioning the members of family and restoring harmony again. Family Constellation is a powerful way of healing intergenerational traumas that are interfering with living a balanced life.

  • You get started by calling me and connecting with m to see if we are a good fit, and then find out a day and time that works for both of us. Usually we start therapy by weekly, regular appointments. You may decrease frequency of meeting after you have done some work and you have achieved some of therapy goals.
